Express or commuter?
Express trains stop at A1 Taipei Main Station, A3 New Taipei Industrial Park, A8 Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, A12 and A13. They have large-bag racks and charging sockets. Extended express trains also stop at A18 Taoyuan HSR Station and A21 Huanbei. Commuter trains stop at every station and take about 49 minutes from A1 to Terminal 1. Both cost the same.
Where to board at the airport
At Terminal 1 (A12) the platforms are on B1, by the food court escalator. At Terminal 2 (A13) they are on B2, by the food court hallway. Trains to Taipei usually call at A13 first, then A12.
Between the terminals: since the landside Skytrain stopped on July 1, 2026, the MRT between A12, A13 and A14a is free when you tap a transit card, credit card or mobile payment at the gates. See terminals.
First and last trains
Taoyuan Metro’s timetable shows the first express from Taipei Main Station at 05:30 and service until late evening; in the airport direction the last trains run around 23:00. Late-night times differ by direction and by station, so check the timetable for your exact train, and allow the 2 to 3 hours at the airport that airlines ask for.
In-town check-in at A1 and A3
Some airlines let you check in and drop bags in the city on the day of your flight, then ride to the airport hands-free:
| Station | Hours | Airlines |
|---|---|---|
| A1 Taipei Main Station (B1) | 06:00 to 21:30 | China Airlines, Mandarin Airlines, EVA Air, UNI Air, Cathay Pacific, STARLUX |
| A3 New Taipei Industrial Park (1F) | 09:00 to 16:00 | China Airlines, Mandarin Airlines, EVA Air, UNI Air, Tigerair Taiwan |
Finish at least 3 hours before departure. Not every flight qualifies, so check with your airline. Taoyuan Metro: in-town check-in.
